For six weeks (August 11 – September 23, 2007) the traveling Smithsonian exhibit will be housed at the Masonic Hall in Newton. A local exhibit will be part of the presentation and will highlight:

Local entertainers with special attention given to Burl Ives
- Musical instruments both primitive and modern
- How the music was delivered or brought to the region
